Wyndham Cultural Centre
Wyndham Cultural Centre Public Open Space is a collaboration with Urban Spark Studio to establish a new civic square in central Werribee, positioned to support arts, cultural programming and public events.
The project forms an initial stage in the broader transformation of the precinct, reconfiguring the forecourt of the Cultural Centre into a flexible public realm that extends the building’s use into the street.
The space is composed through a lightweight civic infrastructure of repurposed shipping containers, modular furnishings, lighting and temporary rigging systems, enabling adaptable configurations for performance and gathering.
Public art, including mural works by Drez, is integrated into the fabric of the space, reinforcing its identity as a cultural interface rather than a static forecourt.
The reworked public realm reactivates the Cultural Centre as an urban destination, extending activity into the evening and strengthening connections to Werribee’s main street and broader civic life.
