Alexandra Buchanan

Architect l Founder BArch (Hons) RIBA / RAIA

Alexandra Buchanan established the practice in 2011, grounding its work in a deeply considered engagement with place, narrative and the long-term life of buildings. Registered in both Australia and the United Kingdom, her experience spans private residences, public buildings and mixed-use projects, informing a body of work defined by clarity, restraint and emotional resonance.

Her approach is guided by careful observation of site, context and the ways in which people wish to live. From this, architecture emerges that prioritises atmosphere, proportion and material expression, resulting in spaces that are quietly expressive and enduring in their presence.

Sustainability is embedded within her thinking as both an ethical and design imperative, shaping work that is environmentally responsive and materially intelligent. Alongside practice, Alexandra contributes to the broader discipline as a mentor, juror and active member of the Australian Institute of Architects.
