Our Ascot House is a significant interior design and alteration proposal to a grand Hamptons estate house that sprawls along the suburbs’ most prestigious tree-lined avenue. The brief; to make the already impressive property a home that reflects the client’s personality with spaces that complement their lifestyle.
Re-organising the programme of the floor plan was fundamental in shaping the interiors to create a more direct and purposeful connection to spaces. Ultimately, a number of lessor used areas have been reimagined to achieve a highly functional & dynamic sequence of interiors.
These include an assortment of new entertainment zones to connect the indoor to the outdoor. The new pavilion extension helps establish a stronger connection to the existing lawn and newly acquired property and tennis court next door. The extension includes a commercial sized teppanyaki bench and BBQ area with a grand double-sided stone fireplace connecting the old with the new.
At the other end of the house, dormant storage spaces have been repurposed into a winter bar & cinema room. These provide a more private setting for guests and family to enjoy whilst still being connected to the backyard.
More intimate alterations take place in the client’s former office space, housing an elegantly detailed gentlemen’s retreat/ whiskey room. The oak stained timber with brass and stone accents generates a dark, moody and luxurious interior more suited to the client’s aesthetic.
At first-floor a significant reimagining of the Master Suite focused on a new office, private lounge, bedroom, dressing room, luxurious en-suite and exquisite his and hers walk in robes.
